How do I know if I’m the first to find a track? - Phase 2
Q: How do I know if I’m the first to find a (potentially) real track? A: When you think you have found a track: 1) note the movie ID # in the VM and your current score/stats 2) click directly on the track and confirm the click 3) note your score/stats, if t...

I think I found one - low angled track
Oh gosh, I'm flipping out. I think I really found one. It looks like a low angled track (moves left to right). I'm not sure how to hyperlink it, but here's the slide number: 2574341V1 I clicked it, and checked, and it only has a count of 1, so I think I'm actually the first one to click on it. The o...

The Night Before Phase 2
Twas the night before Phase 2 And all through their houses Not a scanner was scanning Nor using their mouses The old scores were saved In the old lists with care In hopes that a real track Might soon be found there The scientists were snuggled All up in their beds While visions of asteroids Danced i...

Re: determine detection threshold
May be this message is all speculation, but I've been thinking about this subject and want to share it. And if there are REALLY more subtle actual candidate tracks, forget everything I said here. Hi, Marcia. :) I don't know if anyone else has encountered this the same as I have, but I have noticed ...

Let the Dusting BEGIN - Round 2
I just logged in to start looking, and I must say, I'm liking the new scanning process. True, the calibrations are a bit trickier, but I don't mind if I get pinged for something I actually mistook. At least I learn from those. And the real scans - MUCH more detail! Thanks, Stardust team. This must b...

This link might help answer your questions: :) http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1800 Thanks so much, DustSabre. I did see this thread, I guess I was just hoping that there had been some update, since this was from May. It does make me feel a little lost to not know where...

Lost In Spacedust
I was going to post this as a reply to another topic, but really felt it needed to be a new discussion. Basically, I haven't quit searching, but have not been able to get back to it in quite some time. This is the first I've logged on in a couple of months (mostly due to demands from my work). The p...

Re: Competing with computers and teams.
I want to know how others feel about competing against computer programs and relay teams to find tracks. I mean, how can a single human being who is looking for tracks manually compare to a computer or a team that spits out information 24/7 without a break? A computer doesn't have to eat or sleep. ...

Re: Optional horizontal slider for interface: Whats the stor
I was wondering, in the midst of sliding through these and listening to Buddha Bar audio with my headphones, were two things (1) Does anyone change their mouse sensitivity to make the whole 'sliding' thing easier and (2) Noting that this effort is not new, has anyone suggested creating an optional ...

Any perfect scores?
I've seen so many posts and messages about specificity and sensitivity percentages, etc. it made me wonder:
Does anyone still have a perfect 100% / 100% score out there?
Does anyone still have a perfect 100% / 100% score out there?

That means that most people miss more existing tracks then that they click non existing tracks (blank CM's), whereas you clicked on a number of non existing tracks and missed only a view existing tracks. i.e. you have a good eye for the tiny tracks. Right. But it's interesting to see the trends in ...

Now for a real candidate: http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/myevents_viewer.php?id=568405V1 - it even appears to have an impact crater at the surface. JMHO... Hi, Larry. I actually think this one looks more like an inclusion. I see the larger rings (what you noted may be an impact crater) that...
