Re: Track in this movie, but It's counted incorrect
Thanks for everyone's help and replies. Like Dr. Spencer, I always click between the dots, just a little above the red dot in the example that Elaine submitted. It's worked so far for thousands of them, except this one. I have it cataloged in my brain now and will by-pass that movie next time it app...

Re: New 100 cm's flooding the site?
Elaine, Thank you for your last Post. When I asked in my original Post on May 12, "what is happening," I had no idea what the problem really was, or how far reaching the consequences would be. I'm now overwhelmed by, yet appreciative of all the responses, for I realize the horrendous job t...

New 100 cm's flooding the site?
What's happening? Before today (5-12-10) I found 60 to 75 Tracks per hour regularly. However, oddly all of the Tracks were in the 100 micron samples. I found no Tracks in the 50 microns. Things changed this morning. Today, I have received dozens and dozens of 100's. It takes me a minute or two to ca...

explain the dark & grainy 100 cms?
I frequently receive 100 cms that are very dark and contrasty. The background is heavily grained and the rest of the sample looks like a piece of crumpled up aluminum foil! I've tried to search for particles in them, but my eyes blur out and I have to click on "Bad Focus." Has anyone actua...

Re: Where have all the "DUSTERS" gone?
I think I know why we no longer have thousands of dusters as we did in Phase One. Too many 30 micron slides with no particles in them! I had to get through twenty-nine of them before a 100 micron one came up this morning with a particle in it. That gets pretty boring. Isn't the whole point to find d...

Who's dusting from West Virginia?
West Virginia? I read a note that said there are seven of us dusting from West Virginia. I'd love to hear from you! I was born and reared in Charleston and am now retired here--living in Edgewood Summit retirement community. Have a 24" iMac and love dusting. I am 80 years old and dusted for Sta...

Re: 50 vs 100 resolution
I've noticed the same thing. But I still scan and check the 50's for any strays that might be in them. I'm enjoying this Phase 3, after skipping Phase 2. I spent a year in Phase 1, and loved every minute of it. By the way, am I the oldest on the Team? I was born in 1929.

Re: "I found a cute, funny, interesting, etc. movie"
I found a weird object in 9914643VI today. I was a large black blotch, at least 2.5 centimeters long and 1/4th that wide. It formed almost a perfect lower-cap "d."

Ron Spencer
Lollia, and others, Ron has read emails from all over the Globe he says, and they have greatly brightened his days. The computer at the local library can only be used for a restricted length of time, but he wants to respond to everyone as soon as he can. He always contacts me because I copy all the ...

Ron Spencer
I have some news about Ron. He was robbed and the ramifications of it are quite serious. I don't know if I.D. theft is involved or not, but he has lost his phone and Broadband service. The mayhem caused by the thieves has caused him great anguish and he may not recover the loss and be back online un...

Phase 2, reply to Ronald C. Spencer
Hello everyone, I've not posted since Phase 2 began because of my experiences at the end of Phase 1. I'm an old fuels lab tech gal who learned very early that Right will always be Right and Wrong will always be Wrong, as Spencer says. I might add to Spencer's post, that Fair is always Fair, as well....

Thanks very much----to DustSabre
DustSabre, there were two or three references to the fact that dusters would be invited for a tour at the end of (Phase 1) project. One news item mentioned the Johnson Space Center, which I was unable to locate, and the others refers just to the Berkeley lab. I was looking forward to the tour. Here ...

Thank you very much -- Spencer
I support the vents from Spencer and others about the unfair judging for our efforts at stardusting. Personally, I can't complain since they gave me two more points than I had figured they owed me! My detailed records show 50 errors that Stardust Team made during the past year on my dusting, yet the...
